Whoa, if remember correctly, if you don't drain the transmission and you pull 
the splined shaft out of the rear of the five speed, you'll get a dose of oil 
out of rear of  the transmission when you tilt the engine to get it out of 
the car. Unbolt the driveshaft from the flange and you'll be fine. I think, 
therfore I could be wrong.
