Hey folks,
Well, SRL311-00489 is now in the hands of the guys at CDM. I had it flat bed
towed there this morning and Les and I looked it over for about an hour
while I talked about what I would like done to the car. Figures, Les wanted
to know if the car was originally painted black as he said there are only
two 67 2000s that he knows of that came out of the factory that way.
Les is a wealth of info. He told me about seat designs and roll bars and
everything else I could want. I admired some of the cars in his shop
including a 510 he is working on that would bring tears to yours eyes if you
saw it. It is awesome. He took the time to show me his '63 fairlady. It is a
single carb model. He even joked that this is his personal car and that he
is so busy, he can't work on it. I had a great time. If you haven't been to
his shop, it is worth the trip. Of course this is easy for me to say as I
live 65 miles from CDM...
Les told me that barring any unforseen problems like the "2 liter death
rattle" or anythng else (like parts), my car should be on the road by mid to
late January. Just in time for the inaugural meet of SoCalROC. She won't be
pretty (body work is next) but she will be running and on the road.
