Distributor question

Hello all,

I have a tech question.  I have read about the conversion of smog 
distributors to non smog, but there is an unanswered question.  Will a non 
smog (pre 1968) 1600 distributor work in a 2000?  I can't see of any reason 
that it won't, but I am not an expert.  Also, is the distributor in a 67.5 
1600 a non-smog or a smog?
