Hello All,

Well, since the day is soon approaching when my 67 2000 will go on hiatus, I
took the opportunity to take my girlfriend Liz out for what I call "The
Ortega Highway/Lookout Run". Top was down and the air was brisk so I made
sure that we were bundled up. I got to wear a hand knit scarf that my mom
made for me and also wore some driving gloves as the temperature was a brisk
50 degrees in the hills.

Ortega highway is a nice twisty two lane road that climbs up into the
mountains that separates the coast from the Elsinore Valley. We had great
fun taking the turns. How I will miss this car! Anyway, just as you crest
the highway and have a spectacular view of Lake Elsinore there is a
roadhouse called the "Lookout". Lots of bikers wearing leathers and Porsches
and other performance cars are a common site. It's a fun road to drive.

We sat and ate some chili which was really good and enjoyed a spectacular
view of Lake Elsinore below. The place also has ribs and other good food.
The place is screaming for a SoCalROC run sometime in the near future. But
for today it was just me, my girlfriend Liz, and my car. A great time and a
great run.

The run is excellent this time of year because the Ortega traffic is down
from summer. This run would be good in the winter months before traffic
starts to pick up. Dress warm--even ski gear would work if you plan to go
top down.

P.S. Look for new shots of my fabulous blown engine block if you thought the
hole on the passenger side was famous wait until you see the devastation on
the drivers side! Who said girls don't go pedal to the metal!

Liz Vipond (Andy's girlfriend)
