Hello All,
Recently, I had the idea of a "weekender" outing where a whole weekend would
be dedicated to roadstering. The problem is that some people want to meet
and socialize and some people want to drive. I thought it would be a great
idea to have a weekend where you could appease both- one day for the people
that want to meet and socialize and then the next day have a run.
I started to look for venues, but I think that with Solvang just over and
people getting busy it might be a little soon. I received two confirmations
and some declines, mostly because people are traveling. So I think a
reschdule is in order.
I have it in my mind to do a Palomar run this August. This run is probably
one of the funnest drives there is. Incredible twisties and a great time. I
am thinking though that we might want to pick a little bit better restaurant
this time. Anyone remember the beef jerky hamburgers?
I also am going to invite the Z clubs to come with us again. The Z club of
San Diego was great last time as well as Dave Hawkins and his INCREDIBLE BRE
510. I got to chase him up the hill in my 67 2000 and it was everything I
could do to stay with him.
Now for those of you who want to meet, eat, and socialize, I am planning a
picnic/barbecue the day prior. You can come to one event, or both as you
like. The whole idea is to get out and get our cars noticed!
I will be looking at dates and venues and will pass it on to the group as
things firm up.
