I am adding a voltmeter to my car since I now have a GM alternator. I
want to wire the voltmeter to an ignition switched wire. I have the
lower dash panel and the steering column cover removed. There is a
plug into the ignition switch with five wires - black/yellow,
black/white, white/yellow, white/blue and white/red.
Which wire is hot when the ignition is on? Is it OK to splice in here,
or should I do it somewhere else? If somewhere else, where and what
wire?
