The engine comes out of a Nisan 200SX, model years late 80's through 90's.
There is a nice picture of a conversion at Gordon Glasgows Website. Herb
Petty put one of these drivetrains, thats right, engine and transmission in
his roadster. Buz Bowerman also has the same setup except with an automatic
transmission. Both nice cars, you should have a look, here is the link

The way nissan labels an engine is first by the model of the engine, such as
KA, the next designation is the size, 24 which makes it a 2.4 liter, the next
has some specs on the engine D dual overhead cam and lastly the ignition type
E Electronic ignition. A VG30DETT would be a VG engine, 3.0 Liter, Dual
overhead cam, Electronic ignition, Twin Turbo. Pretty much that will help to
sum it up. Let me know if you need any other questions answered. List help me
