Hi listers,

I thought I'd take an old set of wheels and restore them just for the
heck of it and I need some advice These are machined aluminum wheels that
came from the factory with some clearcoat to give that brushed aluminum look.
Moisture over the years has slowly worked its way under the clear coat and
they're looking bad. I have no trouble getting that old clear coat off with
paint remover but my question is what can I spray over the finished aluminum
to give that dull look. I noticed that the clear coat I'm removing is not
really clear but transluescent. Removing the sealer/clearcoat actually brings
out the original chrome like finish that I don't want. Does any one know of a
spray that gives it that hazy finish but still retains that shiney look? Can
anyone make sense out of this?
