I'm about to install my tach cable. I purchased a seal from one of our
vendors. It's a small rubber ring. First, which way does it go in? It has
one side that is flatter than the other and one side that is "raised" a bit.
Which side faces the distrib? Second, is there anything else that is supposed
to be on the tach cable end? All I have is the cable with the large nut to
screw onto the distrib. Is there supposed to be a plastic part that fits
inside the cable end? The reason I ask is that when I took my car apart
several months ago, I found a white plastic piece that fit inside either the
speedo or tach cable (I can't remember which now). When I was assembling the
car, I couldn't find that piece.
