Right along with the rest of those who got their cars going over the
weekend I got my 2000 off of the jack stands and rolling under its own
steam. I finished installing the left Miata seat (right still left to
do) and warmed up the engine and adjusted the valves after changing the
head gasket over the winter. So far no leaks on top, which is why the
head gasket was changed, and now to watch the bottom for leaks.

Today I got a chance to drive topless for about 20 miles while I picked
up stainless steel screws to replace various screws around the interior
and body. While I was driving it I noticed that when it idled down to
about 700 RPM that the oil pressure drops to almost 0. At engine speeds
above 1000 RPM or so it is 1/4 to 1/2 scale. How low should the oil
pressure gauge be at idle? This is with fresh 10-40 oil.

Today I am getting ready to turn to the interior. The embroidery
machine is running off the design for the back wall behind the shelf.
If it looks good I will continue making interior panels. If not it is
back to the embroidery design software for different stitches.
