Hello list,

My name is Lars Tungen and I live in Norway. I have an early 1967 1600
roadster in good condition, but with a couple of flaws that I need some help
with:

STEERING WHEEL
A previous owner has replaced the good looking original steering wheel with
a "bad taste" GT style one. Not only does it look bad, but because of it's
smaller radius it makes the steering heavier. I have been looking for an
original wheel for quite some time without success. Being located in Norway
does not make this any easier since these cars were never sold new here. My
repeated internet searches on Google and EBay have always come up empty. If
anyone on this list have one for sale or know where to get one, please let
me know.

I suspect that it will be very difficult to find a steering wheel in mint
condition and I may have to settle for one in need of restoration. In this
regard I would like to know if such a restoration is possible and how it can
be done.

TRANSMISSION
The 4-speed transmission was in pretty bad shape when I bought the car. It
sounded like a coffee grinder and it was difficult to make it stay in gear
in the 3rd and 4th position. My local Nissan vendor has since overhauled it
and the sounds have gone. But still, on some occasions it pops out of gear
in the 4th position. It will only pop out just after the 4th position has
been selected. If it stays in gear for the first few seconds, it will stay
forever. What could be wrong?

METRIC SPEEDOMETER
My roadster was imported from California and is therefore equipped with a
speedometer showing MPH. If anyone know where I can get a metric speedometer
please let me know.

Thanks,
Lars Tungen
