It so depends on tuning, it's not funny... The compression ratio on a stock 2L is low enough that it can be adjusted to run safely on 87 octane and it'll still run pretty well... It's mostly timing, really... Toby > Does a 2000 engine require premium gas? I would have thought so but my >engine > does not ping with regular gas. Is this possibly doing any harm? My 67 > Mercedes would ping like a Jamaican steel drum on regular. |
