Well I guess that I should introduce myself to the list. My name is Greg
Gill, I live in Puyallup which is about 35 miles south of Seattle, I have
been lurking on the list for awhile, since I got my first roadster. I would
like to thank all of you because I have found some fantastic information
here! However since purchasing my second roadster I have some questions that
I could use some help sorting out. I have two 1964 SPL 310's, one is a three
seater, and the other is a two seater. My first dilemma comes from the
vin's. As I understand it the three seater came out first, and then the two
seater, with the battery up front, started production in August of 64. Well
my two seater, vin #0997, and the two seater is vin #02101, how can this be
if the three seater came out first shouldn't it be a lower number than the
two seater.

My second question is regarding the engine numbers, I picked up a couple
vintage books that cover my roadster, and according to them the engine
number is on the side of the block. There is two tabs the first has a
letter, both of mine R, and the second is the number. The plate on the
firewall says G-84335, and G-79547 these don't match my engine. I have heard
that the number on the plate is a code, maybe, but shouldn't the letter on
the block be a G? I can't imagine that someone with two different cars put
in a 1600 engine, epically condescending that both cars are positive ground
and the motors would have to be made to work.

Lastly, I would like to find people, or a club in my area where I could
access informed people so I could gain some education on these cars, and
hopefully do some railing.

If anyone has information that could help me sort it all out, it would be
helpful. I am trying to figure out which one I should restore, which one to
use for parts, and which one would potently hold the most value, two seater,
or three?

Sorry for being long winded, I tried to keep it to a minimum, Greg

Ohh, one more I am looking for a wiring schematic for this model as well,
thanks again!
