i am using an electric fuel pump in my early 67 1600. it failed.
in the troubleshooting process i substituted another pump, which i believe,
but cannot guarantee to be about the same pressure.
besides the fact that the engine coughs, sputters, and jerks violently, fuel
comes out of the vents on the fuel bowls.
could i have some sort of clog in the carbs?
it coughed, sputtered, and jerked violently before the pump went out.
i just set the valves. some valves seemed to have no gap at all.
i don't think i can get it to run long enough to really set the timing. on
the dizzy there is a little gage with A on one side and R on the other. its
about in the middle. I played with this to no effect.
before that it ran beautifully . . .
