The chains are available aftermarket. The one up for bid is not
OEM, but probably fine. BUT... it's only the chain.
The chains and the gears wear together, as a set. Putting a new
chain on a used gear presents a strong risk of chewing up the chain
much quicker than if all the components are new. And, a good deal
of the 'chain slop' and death rattle comes from the gears being worn.
The chain wears and stretches, to be sure, but it's not the lone
culprit.
