In case you didn't know, the annual Mt. Shasta Roadster event is this weekend,
so I expect this list to be quieter than normal.

Interesting. Did some Googling, and it appears this was an option waaaaaaaaaay
back when. Found one for sale in May 2000.

Have you asked on the 311s.org forums?

Since you say this came from a 510 wagon, have you asked on the Bluebirds (aka
510) Google Group and/or the the510realm?

Just tossing out ideas.

Pete

Folks,

I am still looking for some advice on finding a part or a replacement
differential for my 1968 Datsun 2000 roadster. The existing limited
slip differential appears to be from a 510 station wagon (LS,
twenty-three splines on axels) with a 4.62 ratio.

Upon inspection, the problem appears to be that whoever put the diff.
together, may have used an improper, crushable pinion shaft spacer.
When the diff. went away, car was immediately parked and work was begun.
Despite all the clatter and banging coming from the diff., the gear
teeth appear to be fine, with no chips or visible cracks.

Any ideas about locating a proper, crushable pinion shaft spacer for
this differential or any ideas on where I can find a replacement/rebuilt
third member for the differential would be greatly appreciated.

Brad
