It's always great to hear from everyone - but could I please make a
very polite (and hopefully understandable) request?
Many of you I know, live in countries where call connection to your
ISP for E-mail and web access is at a local call rate and at no cost
to you. This is not the case in the UK and most, if not all of
Europe. Certainly our connections are 'local' but our telecom time
definitely is not free of charge. In fact, British Telecom NET
profits are about US$170 a second!
It's always good to see your pictures but might it be possible to let
us (in the more costly telecoms countries) know you have them
available to see BEFORE we get them on blanket coverage? I've just
had a nice one sent to me - but it took nearly 8 minutes to transfer
to my computer. I'm delighted the owner is pleased with his
possession but I'm not so sure I want to rack up a further cost for
me for a picture that I don't REALLY need. Thanks anyway - hope no
feathers are ruffled.
