Hi Jerry,
I have ran though for the past 4 or 5 yrs. on a stock( sort of)
2L manifold. No clearence problems. They did help a bunch!
I have the KN filters on them and did cut large holes (the same
size as the air fliters) in the inter fenders, put screen on the out side 
to keep the elephant's out.
Oh by the way I have a 68  GT-6.
