Jim Spencer set a DP lap record on 6/21/64 driving a TR4.
Jim's time was 2:59.2 minutes @ an average speed of 80.337 MPH
I think that Jim Spencer fielded more than one TR4, but Larry Rossi of
Vermont might have the one that was driven to this record.
Some of the current TR vintage hotshoes are running much faster than this,
but many of us are hovering around the 3:00 minute mark. Satisfying. Of
course tires play into the ability to run these cars at these speeds, but
there has been careful (legal) preparation by many, and many are well driven.
