Sigh. I had planned to be there this year, but sit here at home trying to
get something done other than bringing home a Solo II national trophy.
I was looking forward to going head to head with J.K. in FSP. He's barely
ahead of my local FSP nemesis, Abe Potter. I did manage to better Chris'
time at the '97 meet, but that was long ago in autocross years. We'll see
what happens next year, and what I have hanging in my automotive wardrobe.

One of the current projects is to resurrect the production Spit I mention
on occasion. It does exist, honest, and it could be running sometime this
season. Check out http://vitesse.team.net/teamfat/DP for some quick photos
that make it look way too clean, shiny and straight.

But before I do more work on that, I need to get a batch of IVR newsletters
and entry forms in the mail for our Sept. 23/24 race weekend. And do some
work on the wife's Honda, and try to get caught up at work before I fly to
Seattle for a few days, and before the flight make some progress on the usual
Team.Net backlog of errors and manual intervention mail.

Speaking of Team.Net, those of you also on some of the lists like team-thicko,
vintage-race, triumphs, spitfires, shop-talk and so on will likely be seeing
a "Pledge Drive" message from me in the very near future, as I work to get some
funding to cover the monthly expenses involved with moving the server to my
house. If you'd like to contribute to that, or donate to the general
Fat Chance Garage Tool & Beverage Fund, feel free to send a check, single
malts, imperial stouts or a note with Visa/Mastercard info to:

Fat Chance Garage

I'll try not to beg too much on this list. Maybe if I close my eyes and
wish real hard, a fresh set of 20 x 8 x 13 cantilever slicks for the
aforementioned Prod car will appear on my doorstep....

mjb the dreamer.
