Sirs,
In answer to your questions regarding transmission blankets:

1) Q: SFI approval specs?
A: The blanket is tested against a 12,000 to 14,000 rpm blast of a
fragmented clutch drum. The blanket must withstand a minimum blast of
12,000 rpm explosion. The 4-1 is the specification number chosen by the SFI
Foundation.

2) Q: Reviewal by sanctions other than NHRA?
A: DEIST Safety uses the NHRA guidlines and SFI specs due to their strict
requirements.
We are not aware of all sanctions at this time but we do believe that SFI
specifications would be acceptable in any sanction.

3) Q: Heat build-up?
A: The trans blanket covers the bell housing primarily thgus allowing
heat escape through the rest of the transmission. No claims have ever
surfaced regarding heat build up issues from these containment devices.

4) Q: Bolt on Kevlar applications vs. full wrap?
A: We at DEIST believe that full containment is the answer to the
ultimate safety. Ricochet of fragments is just as dangerous as direct hits.
We fully recommend complete containment over partial.

Thank you for your inquiries and we hope to be able to fulfill any and all
of your racing needs.

Good Luck,

DEIST Safety
