Well, winter break is approaching which means I'll have a few weeks home
from school to play with the Triumphs again (There aren't too many
things worse than being away at school and not being able to work on the
Triumphs at all!). One of my projects will be to replace the head
gasket on the GT-6 that decided to stop doing its job on the way to TRF
in August. The motor in that car is pretty tame, I'm just looking to
replace it with a stock gasket, but I'm not too sure which one to get.
The block does not have the recesses around the cylinders and I'm not
sure what gasket is correct for that. From what I see, for the gt6's
there are three different gaskets available:
MK3 72/73
MK2-3 68/71
MK1 66/68
The car is a 73, but has what should be a 71 motor. I have not a clue
as to if the non-recessed block is correct for 71. Anybody know what
gasket is correct for the non-recessed block??
