Actually, before I started vintage racing I drove the cheater on the
street for several years with a Toyota 2TG motor and five speed. The motor
was sleeved to 2.2 litres, heavily breathed on, had twin Mikuni side
drafts and about 220 HP at the crank. I still have the engine and trans in
my storeroom.
Would that be OK in Vintage?

putting a
TR3 body on a chassis that can accommodate a better suspension and V8
power.
