I considered it and decided that two radiators made more sense--mostly
because I have bad experience with twofer systems, like TV's with built in
VCRs or magdynos on old british bikes. When you have a problem with one
component, you compromise both. But I sure thought it was an attractive
option.

We are thinking of replacing the custom aluminum radiator in the THUNDER

BOLT. It has over sixty events on it now, and while it is working, we
did
have to repair it last year. Because it is custom, it would be nice to
have
a spare in case of a problem during the middle of the season. So we are

going to have a new one made, install it, and put the old one on the
shelf as
a spare. The first question the fabricator asked was, "Do you want a
built
in oil cooler?" WOW! We don't run an oil cooler on the Thunder Bolt,
but we
probably should. It has a standard size oil bath and no cooler. If
this
were a true TR3 or TR4 radiator I would be concerned about giving up
engine
cooling, but with the THUNDER BOLT we have a ton of radiator. Much more
than
we need. If anything we have a problem getting the engine temperature
up to
an ideal range. We certainly can consider a built in oil cooler.

Anyone have any thoughts or experience down this street?
