Good guess Doctor. The T-Bolt bawked at running well both Friday and
Saturday, but Jack Drews gave us some richer SU needles that helped, and the
car ran
pretty well in the Feature Race on Sunday. 3:11 and change was the best I
could do through qualifying. The car only bawked on occasion in the feature
race, and I got down to 3:07 and change. But I never got close to 3:00 (+/-) I
was looking for. Bob Wismer co-drove the Enduro with me, and he is a much
fussier driver. He likes a car that corners on rails. He complained about
steering wheel vibration that was putting his hands to sleep, a front end
shimmy that
was scary, and the fact that engine sustained at 5200 RPMs. So we have
issues to look at before MID-OHIO, and harmonics and foaming gas are both on
our
mind. We're also going to be looking at shocks, wheels, and suspension points.

ROAD AMERICA is great. Race Group TWO, where VSCDA places the TR2s, TR3s,
and TR4s had 68 cars entered; 56 cars qualified; 55 cars actually took the
GREEN
Flag. I love to race in traffic, so it was great. I qualified 9th in CLASS
and 40th OVERALL, and finished 6th in CLASS and 27th OVERALL. Great fun.

In the feature race, Bob Wismer registered a 2:56.883, which would be a Beady
Eye Team record at ROAD AMERICA, but he told me it involved exiting at Turn
FIVE and skipping a major part of one lap. His carbs fouled, and he left the
track at FIVE. They cleared up going back through the paddock. I guess your
Transponder trips a lap in the HOT PITS. Hmmm....that sure presents
opportunities.

Sean Alexander has the cutest kids, especially the little girl, Hayley (sp?).
She is the spittin image of mother, Julie, and clearly has her mother's
spunk as well.
