It's usually a couple of ohms, needs to be about 10 watts or better.

I asked if anyone knew, or has an instruction sheet regarding, what resistor
value is needed for a battery cutoff switch that includes the terminals for
shutting off the alternator.  The point is with these "FIA" cutoff switches,
if the engine is running and the switch is turned to off the alternator is
stopped from continuing to run the car even though battery is cut off.  No
responses were forthcoming, so I am tying again with a little more
information.
