Please define "significant" and refresh my memory about what motor and in
what state of tune.
I ran SCCA Nationals when "EP" really was......

When I ran the MSD set up(s) I had an outstanding HP electrical engineer as a
team mate,
(he is still a great friend!) and he helped us set up the TR3 so that we
could run std. Lucas; MSD with the Lucas distributor; or MSD with crank
trigger.
This required a many connection switch, and two more basic switches to insure
that the MSD would survive.

The best power gain is probably when the fuel mixture is not optimized (as
in: during a normal race cycle).
The "soft touch" rev limiter can be useful.
NFI

We went on to a more sophisticated set up.

Has anyone documented any significant power increase with the MSD on the
dyno where you can switch between standard ignition and MSD enhanced
ignition?
