Well, it turned out to be a '69 TR250. I bought it. Now after two
years of having a fast TR6 that I drive on the track I am actually on my
way to having a Seattle area vintage legal car. Charle and Bill, you
can expect to see me out there in 06. I am going to spend as much time
on the track in the coming year in the 6 just really learning how to
drive. In the fall I will be transplanting the engine, suspension, etc
into the 250.
This is such a great group. Joe Alexander was bidding on the car. When
I talked to him, he not only agree to let me get it, he actually became
my agent. He went out and looked at it, took some pictures, gave me
feedback, and led to my becoming the high bidder. He has agreed to pick
it up and store it for a fee until we can work out a way to get it from
Wisconsin to Washington.
I also got support from Mr. Bernard [I think] a FOT member in Texas --
he too stopped competing. In the last 10 minutes, 20 bids were
received. The cost to acquire rose from 1550 to 2551 in that time
frame. Car has no engine, tranny, radiator, or seats or rear axles - so
there is a little work to do. In talking to the seller I learned he had
bought the car from the brothers who originally owned and raced it at
Black Hawk in the 70's and 80's. Guess it was pretty hot. Has slotted
JAg brakes in front, and at the time they gave up on racing, they were
preparing it for inboard brakes. Was told the 250 hp engine went into a
GT6!. I hope to make contact with the driver or the wrench to get some
old photos -- the seller says he has seen them recently.

More when I know more.
Chuck
