Friends,

My TR4 vintage racer is currently equipped with the full TR6 brake master
cylinder/vacuum booster set up. I would like to eliminate the booster. At least
2 of our group have experienced using the TR6 m/c without the booster. One of
them told me he likes it, the other didn't. The complaint by the one who didn't
was that he felt the pedal pressure requirement to stop the car was too high.
As I searched my TR archives, I found mention of the m/c from the latest GT6 as
possibly being a desireable unit to use in the TR4. However, I have never seen
any mention of of how hard one must push the pedal to get the car slowed. I
have a late GT6 m/c with the .812 bore. I'm told that that is the same bore as
the TR6 m/c. I am using the latest TR6 front calipers (16PB I think ) with .70
rear wheel cylinders. If any of you are using the GT6 m/c (even if it is in a
GT6 ;-) ), would you please give me your impressions of your braking system?
Thanks much,
