If we don't say "Howdy", it's because we are in our pickup trucks. Then we
wave to you. It doesn't matter who you are or where you're from, we still
wave. And we use AT LEAST two fingers. Those guys in the Boston area
always used only one finger when they waved at me, and they didn't seem all
that friendly about it...

By the way, if you came through this past weekend, we had a fairly large
SCCA event at MAM (Metro Area Motorplex) in southwest Iowa. There were very
few British cars, and only one Triumph that I saw actually on the track (but
he won HP class that way). My local favorite Doug Buchanan had his GT6
there, but it was in the trailer. I think he was just testing his new
triple Weber set-up, and not racing. The Prather team was there with their
immaculately prepared MG's. The best racing all day was with the Spec Racer
Fords. Some good jousting was seen in the Spec Miatas and the Formula Vees.
All the other races seemed to have one car that ran away from the field and
hid and a maybe two cars that actually swapped positions back and forth.
Fields were too small.

And I'll bet they all said "Howdy" to you.
