I second that nomination! A spitfire and in the Midwest, what more could
you ask!! Hope to see you racing with VSCDA and Midwestern Council.

Hey Guys and Gals,

I would like top propose that Glenn Franco become a member of FOT. He
is building a Spitfire Racer and could certainly benefit from the
collective wisdom of this motley group.

Here is a brief bio. He sent me.

##################################################################

This past winter I purchased a 70-73(not sure exactly but listed as a
73) spitfire that was raced in the west. I have the original SCCA log
book that showed it raced and crashed at Riverside California, Utah,
Arizona and New Mexico. It was undergoing a stalled reconstruction when
I bought it.

Other than a competed chassis and a full cage built into the tub it
needs completion. I have the tub off the chassis and will have it in
primer in a week. I plan on completing the car for next summer's race
season. I plan on vintage racing the car with vintage clubs in the
midwest.

We live near Ann Arbor, Michigan and I have been a design and
development engineer for Chrysler for the past 22 years. Working with
the company, I have been fortunate enough to have attended a number of
driving schools, including the Skip Barber Competition Driver's school
at Sebring.
No real race experience other than years of Autocross with numerous
vehicles including Triumphs..

I do have an extensive vehicle rebuild and restoration background other
than with Chrysler. I do all my own work including engine/drivetrain,
chassis and body complete rebuild restoration. I have been at for quite
some time.

To keep me out of the bars at night, I teach automotive technical
classes at the local community colleges in the area.

I now have 7 complete Triumphs.

* 71 TR6 fully restored frame off completed back in 90
* 74 TR6 fully restored (just need to complete interior)and built
as a fast car or for autocross.
*       68 TR250 in need of a full restoration.
* 70 TR6 just picked up last night.
* 73?? Spitfire race car in the midst of a rebuild.
*       78 Spitfire parts car
* 77 Spitfire in need of some minor work.

I have built many cars and these are just the ones I have right now.

Do I hear a second to this nomination?

Regards,

Joe C,
