Author, racer, shameless scam artist, award-winning motorsports journalist,
notorious racecar ride mooch, and definitely a friend of TRIUMPH, Burt Levy has
announced that Toly's Ghost, the fourth book in his Last Open Road series
will debut on Halloween (October 31st, 2005). As popular as Vintage/Historic
motorsports is, it is a limited market, and therefore such publishing efforts
require creative financing. So similar to past efforts, the publishing of
Toly's
Ghost will be partially funded through sponsorships and advertising. Recall
the FOT participated last time. I have discussed the matter with our Grand
Poo Bah, Joe Alexander, and he agrees we should do so again. He has asked me
to
act as Point (or Lead Man, if you're a bricklayer) in this effort. Burt Levy
is a long time friend, and I am happy to do so.
Therefore...the FOT will take a business card sized ad at a cost of $350.
The ad copy will be as approved last time, that is our name and full color
logo,
along with some text that reads, "An ad hoc group of avid racers and
aficionados dedicated to the common good, and the preservation and utilization
of
TRIUMPH SPORTS CARS." The original FOT logo (using the passing and debris
flags)
will be used to compliment Burt's tongue in cheek style. Because time is of
the essence, and hard copy is required by the 26th of this month, I will fund
the $350 required for the ad ($100 of which will be my own contribution). The
balance $250 is being solicited from other FOT members. Completely voluntary.
No pressure. If you feel the FOT needs some public exposure from time to
time, well then make a $10, $20, or whatever you can spare, contribution to the
cause. Contributions should be sent to our Grand Poo Bah, and Disbursing

Joe will collect the money, and when appropriate, he will reimburse me for
the $250 balance due. The FOT will be advised of the success of the effort,
and
any money collected over $250 will go into the 'FOT account pending future
worthwhile efforts.
I remind all FOT members who raced at MOSPORT, that Burt Levy made a
significant contribution (a check that actually cleared, of all things) to our
hospitality efforts there. He is a friend of TRIUMPH. While you are
encouraged to
participate, it is strictly voluntary. Contact me with any comments or
