Race:

Group 1 and Group 2 were combined, which seemed to work out ok from my
vantage point on pit wall.

Dick Stockton had an uneventful race. We fixed the sway-bar bolt inteferance
issue and the car now had a working rear suspension. He got by back all his
spots, except that of the a Lotus Super 7, who drove off into the sunset
running 2'18's (second fastest car in the run Group to a FF). The Elan had
more power down the straights, so Dick gave up chasing him, and just cruised
around experimenting with different lines. Best lap time was a 2'23.7.

Randy Williams had an action packed race. Having to start from the back of
the field meant driving through the pack.. which he did in a hurry!.. at least
until he came upon a slower but more powerful 2.0L Datsun Roadster (Henry Frye
may remember this car). The Datsun was much slower through the corners but it
had the straight line speed. For 3 laps Randy tried to get by, coming out of
the last corner everytime side-by-side down the pit straight into T1. Randy
got by him on the last lap, but not before having an assisted off-road
excursion. Randy kept in the gas and was able to get by. Best lap was a 2'25
flat in traffic.

Richard Brown was seen chasing around a Porsche, which he was catching by the
end of the race, but he ran out of time.

David Spiwack was also seen chasing a Porsche, and looked to be having a good
time dicing it up with a few cars.

All in all this was a nice weekend. With the VSCCA cars there, some
interesting, rare, more traditional vintage cars were there.
