Hi,

I don't why Alan is doing this, but with the TR6, there is very little
clearance between the bell crank on the firewall and the rear carb body
when you run the triple DCOE setup. As a result, those of us who want to
use the awesome ARE Weber carb heat shields have a clearance problem. One
solution ir going to the cable setup. Another factor is that the cable
setup is a lot lighter than the fire-wall mounted stock set up.

But yes, throttle cables do fail. They also don't make very good ground
paths if they are called into such service. :-)
