Steve,

The low quote you received from SCAT amortizes the cost of set-up on the
first crank over 10 units. Moldex says that the first unit is $6K, the
first 3 units $5.5K each, and the price decreases depending on the length of
the production run.

I do not know of many serious TR5/6 racers out there: Chuck Arnold, Dean Van
der Carr, Sam Halkias, Walt Hollowill, JK Jackson, Bob Lang, Mike Munson,
Kai Radicke, Marty Sukey, Dave Wingett and Alan Washatko. My apologies if I
have left any out. Still, it is a small number, and not because the car is
incapable, but we have to race unfairly in classes where the car is largely
non-competitive.

The GT6s have an easier time because they meet the age requirements.

Shane

Shane,
Who told you 6K? Probably Moldex. Several years ago Scat told me $2200 for
the sixes and I could mix the strokes. Trouble was I had to buy ten and I
just couldn't float that expense. I've not talked to them in several years.
Steve
