That may be a possibility, especially since the block had been align-honed (as
had all my previous blocks).  So who sells AE chains in the states?  Joe

I use AE chains. I found them to be the shortest on the market.

Never had a broken tensioner.

   Amici, I took my engine apart this weekend and found another broken
timing
   chain tensioner.  This is the 3rd or 4th one that has broken (not all
with
   this same block).  Some have broken in a season or less, while this one
was
   used last season and then failed sometime this season.  These have been
from
   the 3 major parts suppliers, but I did not keep track of which one was
from
   who.


   Any suggestions on oned that seem to last longer than others, or what I
am
   doing wrong that is causing the failures?  They are not wearing thru, but
   rather are snapping off about an inch from the pivot.  Any better
designed
   tensioners out there for the tractor motors?  Joe(B)
