I just bought a case of 12 of the Valvoline VR-1 Racing Motor Oil 20W-50 at my
local "Fleet Farm" store for about $45. The case is marked "API SJ/SH/CD
which is the old formulas with the 1200 ppm of ZDDP. The plastic bottles are
still marked "API SM" which is the new formula. Someone had posted a response
from Valvoline, if I remember correctly, that said the VR-1 still had the ZDDP
and that Valvoline was in the process of relabeling the oil to reflect that.
This seems to be the case. Also, the pdf on the Valvoline web site shows the
VR-1 with 0.12% ZDDP or the 1200 ppm.
Thought some might be interested.
