When in my possession the Candy Box was always fitted with a 2 liter engine
(GT-6 & Vitesse). We made 210 bhp at 8000 with car using a stock crank and
rods and cast pistons. All these parts were stock to start with but ended up
of course another value. There were some very cute things in the make up of
this car including the roll cage that also has 1.5" bars right behind the
little aluminum bumper. I presume all that is still there. The folks in that
series were a little rough and I was determined if you hit this car you were
going to be lose a radiator.

I loved the 2 liter engine as you could rev it right out the window with the
stock parts reasonable checked and reworked. The 2.5 is a good now that
there are steel cranks and rods available and also crank dampers and in
truth 35 more years of working on the thing. Hard to beat cubic inches in
the horsepower race.

One time I was running the GT-6 engine on the dyno and Ak Miller came to
visit. He watched as I took it up the rev scale at 500 rpm increments
holding it at each point for readings then going on up without releasing the
revs. Ak watched until it got 7500 and I said the next stop was 8 grand.
He said "not with me in the building" (no confidence in straight 6 engines)
he went out the door and I never saw he again. Eight grand was not the
ending point either. It was pretty funny at the time.
