Likewise to you, Mark!

Funny thing about e-mail lists and their subscribers.... One might think
that librarians and others in related educational fields might have clues
about how some of this technology works. WRONG-O, gigabyte breath! I oversee a
good three dozen or so Listserv e-mail lists as part of my job at the NYS
Library, and it never ceases to amaze me how people on those lists can
ignore both generic and customized "welcome" messages sent them, not to
mention
pretty clear details on how to handle basics of leaving the list or
changing subscription options that are included in footers attached to each
message.

The difference between you and me is mostly in that the politically and
financially near-bankrupt State of New York tosses me some money every couple
of weeks for putting up with all that. Oh, in fairness, I will say that
there are many, many folk who get caught when their library or other employer
goes and screws up their e-mail client and/or changes userids without
warning and often without a grace period. I'm happy to help them out, and most
of them are grateful.

Hang in there; even we PITA AOL subscribers (especially we AOL subscribers)
 truly appreciate all your efforts!

*Man: Well, no ... It's not so much of a jet, it's more your, er, Triumph
Herald engine with wings.
