Probably the cheapest way to do it is get an inexpensive gasoline powered
generator that can be started during that 15 minutes that the UPS takes
over. Of course during the night, there would need to be some sort of alarm
to notify the operator that there is an outage. (Not to mention the hassle
of actually getting out of bed and starting up the generator).

Hi Mark,

I always wondered if it was possible to connect several car batteries to a
gel-cell UPS of any capacity (mine are 450-650 VA) to extend the time.

Add some connectors to the UPS chassis and connect the car batteries.

Perhaps they can be not-connected until the power outage and manually
connected during operation?

Any thoughts?

We had the power go out in our neighborhood for several hours
overnight. I can't afford a UPS to keep the servers running for
THAT long, I've got maybe 15 minutes or so.

Anyway, I think all Team.Net services are back up and available.
