Heads up -
A quick on-line look on the Summit Racing site and the KIRKEY Vintage Class
Bucket Seat is listed and available, along with vinyl covers. in 3 different
widths. Just a reminder if you don't see it in a catalog(s) check on-line or
call.
So this might be a better way to go for my car as well instead of modifying,
welding an reupholstering my current seat to gain that period look.

I am running the Kirkey low back 'vintage' drag seats in my '62 Spitfire
Autocross car. They are exactly like the Pro-Street seats without the
headrest.
I bought them from Summit, along with the matching seat covers. I just
received a Jan-Feb 2010 Summit catalogue and noticed last night that they
are no longer listing that seat. They might be available somewhere else.
Be aware that some sanctioning bodies require headrests and some don't. I
chose them because they were narrow enough and looked right. Contact me off
list and I can send you a photo.
