Len Renkenberger from the 6-Pack wrote an article many years ago about
building TR6 diffs without special tools. He uses ground rod stock and
washers to build a measurement tool and came up with the number .730 to .731
pionion depth from the bottom of the bearing saddles. He opines that the
machining for the bearing saddles is inconsistent, even a little side to
side variation. I've used his method a few times and it works.

The pinion hears do have a +number etched on them but the used ones I've
seen are sometime illegible.
