I have had the reading differently right out of the box. That is why I use 
three 
of them (with a rotary switch) and swap them around to verify the bad ones.

Would E.G.T. probes become faulty over 2-3 years running leaded 110 octane? 
I've 

rebuilt my engine, fabricated another intake manifold for my rebuilt Joe Curto 
carburetors and still have mixed up readings. Too hot or too low registration 
between 1 cylinder and 6 cylinder readings.
