all triumph factory cams I have seen are symetrical, so you can time it
perfectly by getting the exact rock point as shown in the factory manual.

the 18/58/58/18 timing is correct for US market cars, but in fact was the
stock cam from the T2000 or GT6 model.

 It years since i've timed a stock triumph cam with no dots, but normally
these are cam timing values (not valve timing values), so if thats correct,
you need to check the iInlet valve cam follower starts to open 58 BTDC. i
have made a lead weighted (filled) follower with a rod sticking out of it to
help me do this.
