Amici,

I'd like to nominate Rick Parent to FoT. Rick has an extensive motoring
background that I believe would prove an asset. He works with Pat Ryan who,
if you missed it, led every single lap in Group 1 at the SVRA National
Championships at COTA on October (I mostly watched from behind the guardrail
while steam poured from my Spit). When I say every single lap, I mean
except one, over the course of 4 days. And, I believe, the one he did not
lead was just to mess with that Huffaker MG!

>From Rick:

My So Cal high school major was Industrial Arts. Before I graduated in 1975
I had built my first Go Kart, helped pioneer the sport of BMX and was an
avid Motocross racer. I spent a couple of years in a junior college with the
same major. At that time I built my first aluminum flywheel and intake
manifold and headers for the Datsun 510 I Auto Crossed. From 1975 to 1981 I
worked at FMF, DG and Wheelsmith which were prominent Motocross aftermarket
companies. In 1982 I went to work for John Collins who was the crew chief on
the LeMan-winning GT40 team. I worked for John for 8 years mostly working on
Can-Am cars. In 1990 I got married and opened my own Fabrication business.
In 1997 I went to work for Pat Ryan where I still work today. I have
engineered and built everything from Shifter Karts to CanAm cars starting
with nothing but a picture. My experience is quite diverse, Can-Am to FF,
Triumph Spitfires to high end Street Rods, Industrial machines to mock
rockets and 500lb bombs for an A26 Fighter Bomber. I enjoy making naysayers
out the people who say "you can't do that!" I have learned a lot about
Spitfires while working for Pat and am willing to help other Triumph
enthusiasts with their projects.

HEY RICK: I may need a few tuning tips for my 1300 Spit-I'm gonna be running
against Pat again!

Cheers,

The Fooddude
