Depending on what fuel you're using, with 110 octane, 32 degrees BTDC 
at max advance seems to be close to the limit.  I time it at 3000+ 
RPM at full advance and then whatever it is at idle is what it is at 
idle.  In my case with a fresh distributor from Advanced Distributor 
it's 16 degrees at idle I think - 16 degrees of mechanical advance.

I assume you're talking ignition timing and not cam timing or 
something like that...
