I trashed my flywheel at the Glen last week. While I'm probably going to go
with a Tilton set up over the winter, I needed something in a hurry for a
race in two weeks so I ordered an aluminium 1500 Fidenza flywheel from Ted
S. I'm going to use it with a 3 rail tranny, MK4, 10 spline 7 1/4, disk.
The crankshaft is already drilled out to accept 7/16" bolts.
I bolted the parts together today and took some measurements, there's a ~
0.037 difference in thickness, from the crankshaft surface to the fingers
on the pressure plate between the old setup with a stock pressure plate and
the new one which I'm sure will not be a problem but are there any unknowns
that I won't find out until I have everything bolted together and in the
car? Stock MK1 Girling master and slave.

I used a Fidenza flywheel way in the past, not this model, and I remember I
had to take some material out where it bolts to the crank because I
couldn't get enough clutch travel to fully disengage. Anyone using this
setup now and have and tips or warnings? It's so much easier to make
changes before it goes together.

thanks
mike h
