That event left me with one of my fondest memories ever.=C2=A0 There were=20
many from that weekend, like rattle can paint repairs and the already=20
mentioned fragrant incident.=C2=A0 I wonder if I still have the well worn a=

tattered T shirt stashed somewhere in the house?=C2=A0 I know I've told thi=

tale before, but....
Anyway, the feature race was getting close, the drivers headed out to=20
the pregrid.=C2=A0 All the others made their way to the bleachers there at=
=20
the final turn before the start/finish line. There was just SO MUCH=20
energy in the crowd, such an incredible event already.=C2=A0 Everybody was=
=20
yakking away in spirited animation. That is until the amazing field of=20
gathered Triumphs came into view on the pace lap.=C2=A0 It got REAL quiet a=
ll=20
of a sudden in the stands.=C2=A0 Well, not counting the roar of the engines=
=20
rolling by on the track.=C2=A0 I don't think there was a dry eye out there,=
=20
it was just such an incredible, emotional sight to see what started as a=20
dream become a reality, to see that impressive collection of Triumphs=20
roaring by en masse on their way to the green flag.
It was a great beginning.
Writing that just now brought up another memory.=C2=A0 As some of you may=20
recall there was a vintage-race@autox list for a while.=C2=A0 It was one of=
=20
the ones that got pruned due to lack of interest, as so many other=20
on-line options opened up as the network grew.=C2=A0 But a bit over a year=
=20
after that Mid Ohio event I wrote a message to that list, which included=20
portions of this email from well before 2002.
