It was great for me to be reminded with many of these recollections. I kne=
w pieces and parts, was at Mid Ohio in 2002 just getting started so was for=
tunate enough to participate.
But the best for me was the sharing of the conversation between Sandy and B=
etty.=C2=A0 Man if only she knew!!=C2=A0=20
I knew from the beginning Charlie was all in.=C2=A0 If he was you know Mike=
was as well.=C2=A0 I learned quickly of Charlies efforts and decided to ma=
intain not change.=C2=A0 That has paid huge dividends for me and to this da=
y I annually reap the benefits=C2=A0 and=C2=A0 always am thankful for his c=
ommitments, efforts and engineering.
I have had Charlies car for over 20 years and I suspect it is not much diff=
erent today than it was when I acquired it. That says it all for me.
I will be at Mid Ohio, I am expecting=C2=A0 the same great fun described wi=
thin this thread.

=C2=A0 After the race she got Charlie off to the side and told him that he =
would "owe her forever" for not explaining to Betty just how seriously we d=
id, in fact, take it.=C2=A0=C2=A0
Ok, one more... in the paddock he blipped the throttle and it ran up more l=
ike an F1 car of the era.=C2=A0 "Charlie you POS, it's supposed to have a f=
lywheel on it!"=C2=A0 His reply "It does".... "Well it's supposed to have a=
weight at least in two digits"...."It does!=C2=A0 Eight point five"
Dear God, there are so many more Charlie Kates stories both that weekend an=
d thru the years.
