 I would do...
Look up the original tire size for your car (or see if TireRack has that in=
fo). Then calculate the circumference of that tire. For example if the OEM =
tire is a 165r14 then the diameter is:
D =3D (165=C3=97.8=C3=972)/25.4 + 14
The radius is:
R =3D D/2=C2=A0
The circumference is:
C =3D 2xRx3.14159
=C2=A0 =C2=A0This is the tire circumfrence, in inches, for which your speed=
ometer is calibrated. If you want to keep that calibration, just reverse th=
e equations above and start poking in numbers from available sizes. I do th=
is in an Excel spreadsheet. WAY easier.=C2=A0 =C2=A0Just remember to includ=
e the new tire's aspect ratio. Old, unlabeled radials have an aspect ratio =
of about 0.8, as used above.
